"The Mets' third baseman told The Record that while
he was growing up in Chesapeake, his dad was a Redskins fan. Wright
developed what he called, "a friendly competition," basically rooting
for whoever was playing the Redskins. He eventually grew attached to the men in blue."

I Knew Wright Was Good People
Sorry for this blog becoming Giants Heads lately (sounds dirty), but honestly, endless Johan Santana rumors and Ricardo Rincon signings don't do it for me. That being said, in an article for The Virginian-Pilot, David Wright discusses his being a Giants fan, even when growing up. Mets AND Giants? Good boy, David!

sounds even dirtier is you drop the letters s. No apology necessary for me, as I along with you and Mr. Wright am a Giants fan.
I expected them to beat Tampa, but not the 'boys or the Pack which were both wonderful surprises, and I'm hoping for one more of those. Re: Re: I Knew Wright Was Good People

I can almost hear Homer Simspon saying "mmmmm, graaaavy."
Another pleasant surprise to me has been Jerry Reese, I mean I'd never heard of the guy until he was hired, and he had a heckuva draft as it turns out. I believe every player drafted this year made the roster. Plus he handled Strahan's holdout nimbly, and even the "skittish" comment about Eli which I worried would send him further into his shell seemed to work. Not only am I excited about next Sunday, but also about many seasons to come. Trackbacks

**METS FUN FACT** In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues. Most Viewed Posts
