View Article  All Not Lost For Mr. Met
While many bloggers had made the push to get Mr. Met elected to the Mascot Hall Of Fame, he fell short to the San Antonio Spurs' Coyote in the fan voting.

However, according to mascothalloffame.com, it appears he still may have a chance because now it is time for the Executive Committee and Voting Membership to cast their votes.

I think with any more media coverage, Mr. Met would have been a lock. You know what though...any Hall Of Fame that chooses the Philly Phanatic as a first ballot inductee may not be worth fighting for anyways.

View Article  Kiwanuka and I
As some of you may already know, I don't just follow the Mets. I'm also a fan of the New York Football Giants.

On Tuesday, Yahoo! had a fantasy football draft party at a bar in Midtown.  They also invited Defensive End, Mathias Kiwanuka, which is really the only reason I went (besides the free Heineken).

We wound up having a long and very interesting conversation about training camp, rookie hazing, Michael Strahan, and the New York media. I promised I wouldn't reveal too much about it publicly, but he was a really great guy and seemed to be genuinely having a good time.

Go Big Blue!

         **METS FUN FACT**

In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues.
