View Article  Mets Milestones
With Barry Bonds hitting homers 752 and 753 today, I found it fitting to reference this cool microsite on MLB.com which has almost every notable upcoming MLB milestone.

Here are some of the former and current Mets' upcoming milestones:

Mike Cameron is one game away from 1500 and six doubles from his 300th.
Mike Piazza is one RBI away from 1300.
Jeff Kent is seven doubles away from 29th all time
Tom Glavine is two wins away from 300, needs 2.2 innings to be 33rd in innings pitched all time and three wins to be 21st all time.
Cliff Floyd is 15 games away from 1500, and 57 at bats away from 5000.
Doug Mientkiewicz is four doubles away from 200.
Shawn Green is 74 at bats away from 7000.
Carlos Beltran is 89 at bats away from 5000.
Paul Lo Duca needs 28 more games for his 1000th.
Carlos Delgado needs five more homers to be 38th all time.
Billy Wagner needs 14 K's to reach 1000 and four saves to be 7th all time.
Lee Mazzilli is one tooth whitening shade away from "glow in the dark"

View Article  Hughes Stymies B-Mets
The Yankees' young prospect Phil Hughes allowed two hits and one run in four innings to lead the Trenton Thunder to a 5-1 victory over the B-Mets.  For the box score, go to MiLB.com.

Several Yankees officials were in attendance, including general manager Brian Cashman and special advisers Gene Michael and Reggie Jackson. Hughes threw 57 pitches, including 36 strikes, and had two eight-pitch innings.

The Yankees have won 11 of their last 14 and are now only 7 games behind the Red Sox.

The New York Post is reporting that Hughes will make two more minor league starts then be called up to the Yankees.

Of course, we all knew the Yanks would make it interesting. Question now is, do I pick Hughes up for my fantasy team, the Queens Killer Capuchins??

         **METS FUN FACT**

In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues.
