Adam Rubin at the Daily News notes that Guillermo Mota threw for the first time since his steroid ban last year for the triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs. Mota pitched a scoreless eighth, allowing one hit and striking out one
batter in a 7-5 loss. Barring a rainout, he'll be activated May 30, for
the Mets' 51st game.

MLB announced a new playoff schedule for the 2007 playoffs.
The 2007 World Series is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 24th. The World Series will
continue to follow a 2-3-2 format, meaning that off-days will be scheduled on the ensuing Friday and
Tuesday. FOX Sports will broadcast the 103rd World Series.
The National League Championship Series, to be broadcast by TBS, is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 11th. I hate FOX Sports so much that it looks like I'll be listening to WFAN as I watch these games again to avoid listening to Buck's stats and McCarver's idiocy. And with the Braves' TBS airing the NLCS which might come down to the Braves vs. Mets, it looks like Mets fans are doubly screwed. |

**METS FUN FACT** In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues. Most Viewed Posts
