In an article for the Palm Beach Post, Joe Capozzi reports that Marlins starting pitcher Josh Johnson might miss at
least the first month of the season and could be lost for the year
because of possible nerve damage in his right arm.
Johnson, who'd been penciled in as the No. 2
starter, finished fifth in NL Rookie of the Year voting
after going 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA last season.
You never like to hear of a good young arm going down and I wish him the best, but that's one less competitor the Mets will have to face.
This came on top of Wednesday's news that reliever Taylor
Tankersley has left shoulder inflammation and is on no-throw status for
five to seven days and there is a chance the 23-year-old lefty will not be
ready for Opening Day.
UPDATE...
The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Johnson will mis atleast 2 months but missing the entire season is not likely.

**METS FUN FACT** In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues. Most Viewed Posts
