View Article  Where Have Ya Gone Harold Reynolds?
The Smoking Gun updates us on what has transpired since former baseball analyst and player Harold Reynolds was fired from ESPN's Baseball Tonight.

Unfortunately, there is not too much new information since ESPN has still not provided a strong reason for the firing in the first place.

The Smoking Gun is usually not where I first look for info but I have been interested in why Reynolds was canned.

This is a story to me because of how secretive everything is about it...still!

At that time, Reynolds was the voice of reason on that show.  Ravech is pretty good but I liken Kruk to what Michael Irvin is to NFL commentating, and Steve Phillips, well I won't even go there.

If Reynolds did something inappropriate then I don't see why ESPN doesn't just make that public unless they didn't want to embarrass him which his firing pretty much did anyways.

Ballhype: hype it up!
View Article  Mets Chances of Winning in '07
Bodog.com has offered up their odds on the Mets achieving various feats:

Winning the NL East:
1/3 Favorites

Winning the NL Pennant:
3/1 Favorites

Winning the 2007 World Series:
8/1 odds in 3rd place to the Tigers and favored Yankees, down from 6/1 in December's rankings.

I am not a gambling man, but in terms of their odds on the NL East and NL Pennant races, I think (and hope) they're accurate.

However, I am not sold on the Yankees winning the whole thing in '07. Viva Los Mets!

         **METS FUN FACT**

In 1966, the Mets chose not to select Reggie Jackson with the first overall pick. Instead, they took Steve Chilcott, a catcher who would never make it to the Major Leagues.
